It's been couple of weeks, I started my youtube channel Indian e-Learning to share the information, my experiences & thoughts on e-learning content development, setup, implementation and its use.
I wanted to share something which I learned in last 4 years while working as a content developer, as a e-learning technology concultent and as a web developer in e-learning industry.

I was just browsing youtube videos on e-learning. I was looking for some videos on LMS setup & e-learning implemention guidence in detail. I was also hoping that there will be some videos created by Indian developers or some people in hindi or in marathi language but when I searched videos on YouTube with keywords like "elearning in india", "e learning development in india", "elearning advice for indians", and "elearning solutions for indian", "how to setup e learning in school in hindi" and many more..
But the youtube search listed the videos from various news channels showings reports on progress & future of e-learning in India, videos of some interviews and some videos published by corporate companies for thier advertising. Some were explaining what is elearning and some were explaining how to create elearning videos.. but e-learning is beyond videos & those animated presentations. I was looking videos explaining beyond what is e-learning.
I wonder, still there is not a single dedicated channel for Indian people which shares the information and solutions on e-learning for common people, teachers and organisations. (except channel by CommLab India, an e-learning company)
Since a year I have been interacting with many people in various small & big Indian organisations, and I found many of them are not using the eLearning at its best possible level.
Many organisations including schools & colleges are still struggling with understanding the power of e-learning and its effective use. And some are even unaware about all the stuff.
In my opinion, an organisation or a company is nothing but a group of people who works against the same goal. And I wanted to share something with those Indian people...
In another perspective, I also understand almost each Indian company, a professional Indian developer, artist, leader is looking for foreign clients to work with. Its ok.. organisations can earn something more than what they earn from Indian clients... but why do developers like me and some professional talents wish to work with the foreign clients (people)? Why? Because they just put some challanges in your work and people loves those challenges.
Then... Don't Indian clients puts those challanges in your work? Yes, they do. But, some people feel those challanges just like a routine work. Few experienced professionals find no more excitement there to face it.

I also found many Indian people working with big organisations are still unaware about the best possible e-learning solutions which they can have in their organisation. Please forgive me if my words hurt you more.. but thats what I understand in those interactions till date. Accept it or leave it.
Indian organisations might be struggling with the annual budget to put in training & development but for some the challenges are not about cost, its all about effective and good e-learning solutions.
